Good News, Unemployment Benefits will be Extended... Bad News, Not Long Enough.

Good News, Congress most likely will pass the, 'American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010' (H.R.4213), today or over the next week, with President Obama signing quickly. This legislation will; "Amend the Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2008 with respect to the state-established individual emergency unemployment compensation account. Extends the final date for entering a federal-state agreement under the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program through November 30, 2010. Postpones the termination of the program until April 30, 2011." H.R.4213

 

Bad News is, the extension is just another cork in the hole of the haul of a seemingly sinking ship. Yes, we need the unemployment benefits extended to that unemployment, but as Senator Feinstein commented in June, "We have 99 weeks of unemployment insurance now. The question becomes how long do you continue it before people just don't go back to work at all? June 16, 2010 Trust me, Senator Feinstein isn't joining the ranks of her conservative colleagues in the Senate, nor touting the laziness inherent in all mankind as being the sole reason why Unemployed (Benefited) Americans are not returning to work. Though you could reasonably argue the fact that many benefiting unemployed Americans take too long to find work because they are taking advantage of America's recessional economic tail-spin, and a hot political climate, which is over compensating everyone and everything for the votes. Never have I seen a more polarizing political stranglehold on the welfare of the people of this United States. 

 

It's a fact, President Obama and Congress promised America this Administration would practice transparency and use pay-go with new legislation. At the end of 2009, Congress and the President funded the last extension of unemployment Insurance, " by extending a longstanding federal unemployment tax on employers through June 30, 2011." CNNMoney.com Considering all the rhetoric by a campaigning Obama, on how He'll be the 'One' to unite this country and return her to a position of unity and strength if elected President. This President has done nothing but the opposite. President Obama has lacked in the ability to compromise and unite this Congress to move forward in the, 'Will' of the people. It has been partisan play by this Administration since taking office, and the Republican minority hasn't been any better.   

 

Yes the unemployed need an extension of their Unemployment Insurance, but the President and Congress have had the time to find and must extend the Unemployment Insurance Benefits using Pay-Go, to pay for this extension without any increase to U.S. Debt. They've done it each time, what's different now?  Please, don't tell me it's political. 

 

The worst news is that regardless of the extension, it will not be long enough, that is, unless the President and Congress can fix the problem of unemployment from the root of the problem. Pull back, ease back, on all the federal intervention and regulated mandates that are scarring the hell out of small businesses (Private Sector) across America. At this point in his presidency, Obama has been no help, no friend, to small or large businesses throughout the greatest nation on earth. From complicated new taxes, mandates, healthcare and regulations, small business is in the choke hold of a beefed up Uncle Sam.

Divisiveness in Politics and Social Justice

The Obama Administration has polarized, to a point, the greatest nation (The United States of America) on earth, walking us down a path argumentatively to a return of 1960's civil rights unrest. Clearly not following through on his promise to have transparent Government, nor of being the 'One' bringing Congress together for the better good of the people. President Obama from taking office has literally closed the doors to open and clear transparency when it has come to legislation, Healthcare, Earmarks, Special Funding, Stimulus expenditures and recently with his nomination of Donald Berwick to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Do I care if Berwick brings an extreme socialist point of view to the job President Obama nominated him to, by doing an end run around Congressional approval of this appointee during a summer Congressional?  I do! Why you ask?

 

Yes, I know most if not every President of this United States has ran this play in the game of politics. However, let's remember, more than most, if not all previous Presidential candidates elected to our Lands highest Office. Candidate Obama promised repeatedly  and without a doubt was elected carrying the majority of the Independent vote and a good portion of the Republican vote as well, on the promise to clean up and change Politics as usual in Washington. NONE of that has happened, NONE. This president's tone has been of anger, jealousy and malice rhetoric. I'm tired of the media giving President Obama the excuse of "let's give him a chance and time, because I am sure he means well." Baloney is all we the people have been given since Barrack Obama has taken office. Along with Divisiveness that has disengaged Washington from the people of America.    

 

Social Justice ignored by the Administration and the entire Left Wing of the Democratic Party, champions of the term 'Social Justice' not to mention a setback  for Civil Rights, when the U.S. Department of Justice dropped any real persecutory charges against the 'New Black Panthers' welding their club at citizens using a polling station in a Philadelphia precinct, 2008.  

I'm not going to waste my time with all the reason and logic, you've seen the video and read the articles. I'm just going to post a link HERE for you to visit the website and review the philosophy of the 'New Black Panther Organization. You come to your own conclusions as to why Eric Holder nominated by and works for President Obama, decided there was no reason to carry out a real charge and subsequent prosecution of these New Black Panther Party members. I'm not out for blood, but is it only me, when I say that every case against, for example, our military men and women that have involved intimidation or misuse of authority...etc. They are prosecuted to the fullest degree of the law, distinguishing their guilt or innocence. There seems to be a moratorium on who sees the fullest degree of the law and who doesn't. This can't be good for Civil Rights nor for the Unity of People, promised by the candidate Obama.

DOJ lawsuit against Arizona, divisive at best

Rather than fix Illegal immigration and set a path to legalizing current Illegals living in America now.(20million or more) President Obama has decided to stall any kind of pro-active, progressive, bi-partisan Reform and literally avoid the problem with a DOJ (Department of Justice) lawsuit against the Governor and State of Arizona to block SB1070 the new Immigration Law passed by Arizona's elected Legislature just a few months ago. This is an unwarranted move by President Obama and divisive at best in that it may destroy any chance of real, well thought and reasonable Immigration Reform, badly needed in this the greatest nation on earth.

 

No President, any more so than President Obama had been elected on the promise of change and unity, unity of government, unity of the people. However, it would appear Americans were misled like sheep to the slaughter, as to exactly what we were getting with an Obama presidency. Obama changed Washington, for Chicago bullying style leadership and politics. Choosing to sue Arizona over its new SB 1070 Immigration Bill, and not confront the real problem, with a real solution, has me believing, this President hasn't a clue as to what to do with Immigration Reform, unless instructed by a teleprompter.

 

Now, conveniently, President Obama has time to avoid the real issues of Illegal immigration and Immigration Reform, since no real reform can be discussed in Congress let alone voted on until this Federal lawsuit can be finalized in court. Talk about 'Convenient Truths' there's a big one, and you can bet, President Obama's advisors conveniently thought it out. What President Obama doesn't seem to get! He is not doing his job, or maybe he does understand and rather than confront millions of legal voting Hispanic voters, he'd rather mis-direct the issue to that of Arizona's new law. Bad choice as the President of the United States rather mis-lead than lead at all.

Despite the Department of Justice’s claims in paragraph 62 of today’s lawsuit, Arizona is not trying ‘to establish its own immigration policy’ or ‘directly regulate the immigration status of aliens.’ Arizona Revised Statutes § 11-1051(E) states that the federal government, along with local law enforcement officers authorized by the federal government, can only determine an alien’s immigration status.

Subsection (L) of that same section goes on to state that the law ‘shall be implemented in a manner consistent with federal laws regulating immigration.’

 “The irony is that President Obama’s Administration has chosen to sue Arizona for helping to enforce federal immigration law and not sue local governments that have adopted a patchwork of ‘sanctuary’ policies that directly violate federal law. These patchwork local ‘sanctuary’ policies instruct the police not to cooperate with federal immigration officials.

 “The best thing government can do is to create a stable, predictable environment, governed by an easily understood set of rules or laws. We do not need to make this more complicated than it already is. We must first and foremost create a secure border. Enhanced trade, economic opportunity and freedom will surely follow.

 “I am pleased that President Obama and the Department of Justice did not pursue the baseless claims of illegal racial profiling in the lawsuit. When signing S.B. 1070, I said, ‘My signature today represents my steadfast support for enforcing the law — both against illegal immigration AND against racial profiling.’ Arizona’s law expressly prohibits unconstitutional racial profiling. However, words are not enough. For this reason, I ordered the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST) to develop training on the new law for Arizona’s police officers. AZPOST has completed the training course and has published it for the all world to

President Obama can save the State of Arizona and American taxpayers a whole lot of money, by being the leader he promised on the campaign trail and not the bully politician he has shown, since taking office.

Did Obama Dupe America?

Reading Paul Starobin's recent opinion in 'The Washington Post' titled 'Don't expect Obama to be Superman' " America needs to grow up -- some problems elude even the most powerful people." is a bit of misplaced indignation (: anger aroused by something unjust  or unworthy) Webster. Placing any blame on the American people for having over, exceptionalized (my word) President Obama's abilities to that of Superman, come on Paul, Superman is a comic book hero, we know that, the question should be, do most of America's journalist know?

 

If Americans as Mr. Starobin's says "Americans are his culpable enablers." of Obama's Superman image, thus setting him up for failure, Paul's words "Why can't President Obama stop the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico? Why can't he get the Israelis and Palestinians to stop squabbling and make peace? Why can't he get the Europeans to contribute more troops to fight the Taliban in Afghanistan? Why can't he forge a global treaty to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases?" Well Mr. Starobin, it's because Americans were duped. Simple as said, duped. A beautiful campaign full of promises, an amazing comprehensive use of the internet (to this day) and Supernatural like charismatic statements "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek"(President Obama)February 2008. Unfortunately, for us all, the "we" turns out to have been 'I'm the one you've been waiting for.' The campaign slogan of 'Change you can believe in' turned out to be 'Change, I believe in.' We were given the hope of a savior, and simply got an immature narcissus of a sort.

 

All over the net, you are reading Maureen Dowd's critique of President Obama "The former constitutional lawyer now in the White House understands that the press has a role in the democracy. But he is an elitist, too, as well as thin-skinned and controlling. So he ends up regarding scribes as intrusive, conveying a distaste for what he sees as the fundamental unseriousness of a press driven by blog-around-the-clock deadlines." calling the President a "crybaby." And the shoe fits. Sorry Paul Starobin, your comment on the American people needing to grow up and give some room (patience) for Obama to do his job...does not wash here at the Daily Quack, nor resonates with the citizens of America.

 

Starobin points out FDR and President Reagan's failures, as a way to show no president has been or could possibly be a superman. However, presidents Reagan and FDR never posed themselves as 'The One' nor carried on their shoulders the aura of elitism. This President squalors in it. And yes, it is nasty, dirty and shameful the way this president looks down, rather than out on to the people of this, the greatest nation on earth, for his guidance. We've been duped.

Juvenile Propagandistic Journalism at AZ Republic...What's New?

Propaganda is, what it is, nasty, distasteful, and when written by an editor of the largest newspaper in the state of Arizona, it’s shameful and dishonest. When a headline news article is opinionated, misleading and irresponsible to the point it could very well incite good people on both sides of the immigration debate to anger and potential crimes against one another, it is more than propaganda, its militant writing. And I hold the Arizona Republic accountable for what it may incite. God willing, people from all fronts of the Immigration issue who even bother to read the Front Page Headline article written by Alia Beard Rau, titled "Immigration law's broad wording has legal Arizona residents worried"  in Sunday's Arizona Republic. Will see through its militant propagandistic language and trash it for what it is, bird cage paper for a collection of foul dung.

 

Shame on Rau, shame on the Arizona Republic Newspaper, this article abuses Rau's right to Freedom of Speech, and once and for all eliminates any question as to the Arizona Republic's Left Fanatical lean or not. Alas, we know it leans baby, it leans. Alia Beard Rau is the Tempe/Ahwatukee editor for the Arizona Republic/The Tempe Republic, reasoning the front page spot given Alia's article, and the Position held at the AZ Republic Newspaper, Alia speaks for the paper. Too bad, too sad, wish we all had red ruby shoes with heels, we could click together back to a time the Arizona Republic was a fair, well rounded newspaper and not the rag it has become.

 

Read for yourself Rau's propagandistic trash and tell me if I am wrong, but I think not. I won't even dignify Rau's trash with a point by point debate, if you bother to read it, then you'll know, rebuttal is not necessary.

Secure the Border, Take out the politics, Then give them Amnesty...

If it hasn't been obvious, it must be by now, the topic of Illegal immigration is volatile politics on both sides of the fence. And neither of the major political party's want anything to do with it. Republicans and Democrats have had their chances from Bill Clinton through Barrack Obama, there's no excuse for the hesitation and brush off on immigration reform by Party dominated Congresses of both sides of the isle since the time of President Reagan.

 

Yes President Reagan gave amnesty to Illegal Immigrants, but the number was 2-4million and reform was to follow, but never did. The borders were to be protected from the flood of Illegal immigrants crossing, never happened. American's want the border secured and the flow of Illegal immigrants to stop, then we can equally as passionately discuss amnesty for Illegals with a reasonable path to legalization and citizenship down the road. With a staggering number of 12-20 million Illegals here and continuing to come across the Mexico/U.S. border, the Issue of illegal Immigration has become political by the size of a new potential voting bloc one Political party or another will benefit from. To eliminate this as an issue and obvious stumbling block for either political party, amnesty must include a path to citizenship and full Rights that is years away for all granted amnesty benefactors. A ten to fourteen year term to citizenship would be fair, putting any current or immediately potential controlling political Party out of the picture and aside from any issue of politicizing Illegal immigration.

 

The issue of Illegal Immigration is so volatile and political by its size that a Solomon solution must be found to be sure all American's are served in their best interest and in the interest of the greatest Nation on earth...

When does the Federal Government Act?

NPR(National Public Radio) once again treats us lower class citizens as though, we are lower class NPR commentator Marc Acito graciously demonstrated this overall National Public Radio's ostentatiousness, on Thursday's All Things Considered. Poking fun of the syntactic style of FDR and Sarah Palin the intended target of his criticism, on what this self described musical geek calls 'Eliza Doolittle Day.' Referring to Sarah Palin as an 'Eliza Doolittle'(The story concerns Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phoneticist, so she can pass as a lady.) And 'All Things Considered host Michele Norris makes it clear "This is the kind of unofficial holiday that only musical fans would know about," granted that may be true, but I get the feeling Norris and Acito believe us lower class citizens could never be musical fans. Ah to say Dr. Quack is lower class. Moreover, a big musical fan since early duckhood. And 'My Fair Lady'(from which the Eliza Doolittle character comes from) is one of the best.

 

Let me retreat to 'When Does the Federal Government Act,' Sarah Palin made her point on Sunday past with Chris Wallace May 23, 2010, with some true grit the former Alaskan Governor made it clear the Obama Administration should have acted with all due diligence with regard to the BP Gulf oil spill cleanup. Sarah Palin is far from the first to offer this opinion, but is surely the most profiled person to date to do so. And I might add, kudos for Palin taking the stand, eloquent or not.

 

I've heard cable news commentators of stature water down the administration’s response to the oil spill asking, should we have expected President Obama on the shoreline immediately with a mop and bucket... No, but I did expect because the Spill occurred in water under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government, for the Federal Government to have reacted with more intention. They did not, President Obama reacted in the same manner, he has handled every issue, with self-serving political mumbo jumbo instead of listening and serving the people giving us not everything we ask for, but rather as the leader of this the greatest nation on earth, protection and assistance with the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.

 

Instead President Obama gave the good citizens of the gulf, political jargonistic rhetoric, with a finger pointing, smooth talk and problems with apparent short term memory when it comes to promises, like action, change and security for all the people of America. When does or when should the Federal Government act in the case of an oil spill as in the BP Gulf oil spill, IMMEDIATELY, that's when.

 

It's hard to believe that with one call the President of the United States could not enlist the help of every major corporation, organization, scientific group and every international ally in stopping the oil leak, then the relative clean up. We explore the depths of the little known seas of earth and probe for water on the moon, but we can't stop an oil leak on the ocean floor created by man. President Obama seems to not have the mojo he so boastfully said he had winning the Presidential election in 2008. From NASA to every major university and allies around the world, the President should have asked for help day one, hour one to solve a problem that is of interest to the entire globe. This is what the President could have done immediately and is certainly, relatively good at. Don't dare to give me the answer back, how do you know he didn't make put the personal call out?  He did not. The proof is in the pudding.

 

So what does the President do?  He plays the blame game enforcing by way of political, populist and international pressure on BP to shoulder full responsibility for stopping and cleaning up the oil spill disaster. Yes BP is responsible, but in cases of impending cost and disaster to the people of America, the federal Government with all its resources should be putting those resources to use and availability to BP. Send the bill later. Save our coast, stop the campaign style politics and for heaven’s sake stop the blame game, in disasters, there is no immediate blame, but should be immediate cooperation with due diligence in resolving the disaster NOW!

Additional note: I completed this blog early Sunday morning and well before the airing of Meet the Press and other Sunday News programs, but held up publishing until I had the chance to review each of Sunday’s special news programs. On Meet the Press with David Gregory, Carol Browner the Administration’s top environmental advisor commenting on the oil spill, said that the government is responding with the largest environmental mobilization effort ever. There are 150 scientists on the case, 1400 vessels working on the oil sick coming ashore and much more. This is all news President Obama should be proud of announcing.

However, five weeks down the road from when the spill occurred, it’s about time we heard what the government is doing and or that the government is now doing something at all. One of the biggest issues I have with President Obama is his seemingly off of center definition of what government transparency means. And that was why so many voted for him, the promise of change and transparency in Washington, well the change has been a switch to Chicago style politics, where transparency is a merge of misdirection and illusion of what realty may be or is.

We can all pray; that what Browner and President Obama are doing will resolve the BP oil spill and clean-up, by expeditiously mobilizing all America’s and her allies’ resources to the gulf’s aid.

SB1070 Draconian or not...sit down, shut up and get over it...

Before you get your tail feather into an uproar, know this. My wife of many years was a Mexican national(citizen) with papers living and working here(the United State of America) in the greatest nation on earth. A Mexican Duck she is, having migrated to the United States legally, completing and carrying proudly always, her legal documentation required to live and work in America as an immigrant. In the over (30) years as a documented immigrant my wife has never been asked for her papers or legal documentation with the exception of employment. This has been true under the past immigration laws and will be so under this new law.

 

Under the new sb1070 immigration law I have read (completely)and have noted nothing new from that of the current and weakly enforced Federal immigration laws pertaining to Illegal immigrants. Sb1070 may be a Robo-version of the Federal Law giving it the stereo-type, draconian of sort, but that would be an Ugly Lie. Mama Quack always told me an ugly lie was one with, vicious, hurtful, hateful intent to do as much harm to one, one could do. And many have done do much of that...so to speak. All the lies coming from mealy mouthed activist, journalist, politicians, multi-media outlets and so-called responsible human rights organizations has effectively light the fires of divisiveness in the souls of otherwise good people.(Immigrants, illegal or not)

 

Sure I have my concerns that an overzealous police officer will racially profile my wife and she's a bit nervous with sb1070's Robo- enhancement of the current Federal law. However police officers good or bad are more than aware of Arizona's false arrest laws, and the millions each year States and Cities lose to such cases when officers act improperly in accordance with any law. The instruction and guidance, training and the LAW itself that police officers are taught, makes it clear as to their responsibility to the people and the laws of engagement in preventing such possibilities of false arrests.

 

That being said, false arrest laws isn't my reason in supporting or not sb1070. Illegal Immigrants living and working in America are caught between two weak spine, politically self-serving governments, Mexico and the United States, that have not, since Ronald Reagan was President, put forth any real effective legislation to deal once and for all with Illegal immigration and legal immigration into the United States from Mexico. An effective and expedient immigration policy program for coming into the United States to live and work would be a great start. Better yet, match that with an aggressive and affective policy and enforcement of the entire border between Mexico and the United States, collaboratively between the two and you've got a start to something great for all.

 

SB 1070 is an enhanced, tough and perhaps more rigid law by words than the current Federal Law on immigration. But what it isn't is what the Ugly Liars want you to believe, Nazism, how stupid are writers and journalist that spew ugly lies and comparisons. Are "These the times that try men's souls" Thomas Paine...I think not, and irresponsible journalist, writers, media celebs and such, if they can't read and tell the simple truth about a (17) page bill(sb1070) then they should just sit down, shut up and get over it. Because their voices carry ugly lies that darken the souls of many good people, immigrant, illegal or not and every citizen of this great nation.

What's really scary about the Dem's Health Care Legislation...

The scariest part of the Democratic Party's Health care Legislation passed through the House of Congress March 21, 2010, and sure to pass the Senate on Tuesday 3/23/2010, is what wasn't said for the most part over the weeks leading up to its final passage. Mandate, Mandate, Mandate. Sure, once in a while I'd hear a radio or TV host bring it up, momentarily. But momentarily was it, zip that's all folks. And I understand why.

 

The opposition to the Democratic Party's health care legislation was the only thing bipartisan with regards to the Bill itself. 34 Democrats voted with 178 Republicans to stop this specific piece of Legislation for a variety of reasons. They did not vote to stop Health care reform. The possible and very likely symptomatic problem with the Democratic Party Bill is the execution of its Mandate. I could have supported the Dem's health care legislation if not for the Mandate of requiring and enforcing each and every American, business and institution to pay for a health insurance plan. Enforcement whether I can afford it or not under stiff penalties enforced by none other than, the IRS.

 

I now believe that the Democratic Party, once a Party of the American dream and human richness, is now a Party of Left Wing Loons bent on shifting the political landscape in America to that of a revolutionary militaristic held society. I didn't want to concede to this possibility of what was once a proud and great Political Party of the people. But the realization of legislation passed that is supposed to be so good for the American people, must be enforced and policed by the government's bully dog, the IRS. Give me serious pause as to the state of the government now in power in this the greatest nation on earth. I'm not coming down on the IRS nor blame them in the matter of the Health care Legislation just passed. The IRS is simply the good licensed soldier of the Federal Government and will have a job to do.

 

Now, not only will the Federal Government have complete access to my financial records but, my medical records as well, potentially in one central system. Isn't this the excessive power of government our Founding Father's wrote against in establishing the Bill of Rights "A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference." Thomas Jefferson.  Sunday night March 21, 2010 did we possibly see a glimpse of an arbitrary government? John Adams wrote "Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people." When some politicians and Tea Party protesters cried  chicanery, I'm reminded again of what John Adams wrote;"Be not intimidated... nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice."

 

The Democratic Party has become the Party of hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice. The Democratic Party once believed in the American Dream and was called the Party of the People. Sure the Party passed entitlement programs, but clearly were not meant nor were inclined to be intrusive upon the Liberties of Americans. But the Democrat Party has changed greatly over the decade and a half infiltrated by Loons and so far to the Right Fanatics, they are seen as Left, what a mess. Now they are eager and hungry for government intervention and government will over the people. So back to my original thought as to why Mandate wasn't a cry by the opposition to the Health care Bill. The Left Loons would have been characteristically deaf.

 

As a small business owner, the Health Care Mandate will limit my size and potential for growth, it will be an albatross around the neck of America's businesses. Thomas Jefferson wrote; "A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

Reconciliation isn't the problem, and the New York Times, knoooows that.

In Sunday's New York Times (3/7/10) 'Reconciling with the Past' the point of three writers was; "The history is clear: While the use of reconciliation in this case — amending a bill that has already passed the Senate via cloture — is new, it is compatible with the law, Senate rules and the framers’ intent."

Thomas E. Mann is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. Norman J. Ornstein is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. Raffaela Wakeman is a research assistant at Brookings. Fogelson-Lubliner is a graphic design studio in Brooklyn.

 

The bill is the health care package and the point noted in their final sentence is non-argumentative. It's their intent, that I take to task. I've posted their Op-ED as well as the chart they created to make the point that reconciliation has been used by both parties several times and America has survived. Yet their own chart shows how wrong, and the difference between the reconciliations of the past and  the Obama health care package, now being considered for a vote. Starting with a $700billion dollar difference and the beginning of another big government bureaucratic boondoggle.

 

I want health care reform, but graduated with common sense budgeting, built with a lot of conciliatory deliberation. None of that was used in the creation of either the House or Senate Bills from Congress. And let me be clear, any health care legislation that is put  upon the good citizens of America as a Federal Mandate, does not have my backing. Constitutionally I challenge such legislation that would stymie the growth and dictate to me what the responsibility of my business is, when referring to a social contract like health care. That as a citizen of the greatest nation on earth, I'd be forced by threat of financial penalties and or else, to carry health care insurance for myself and employees, as a new government mandated social entitlement, is a  real, infringement upon my Constitutional rights.

 

In none of the charted examples by the New York Times Op-ED above, did Congress ever enact legislation so clearly in contrast to the views of what seems the majority of Americans. This current health care legislation is an overwhelming bureaucratic and budgetary albatross around the neck of America's future, not to mention, 'Lady Liberty's.' This grotesque piece of Constitutionally devoid legislation, needs to be cleaned up, shaped up and for the peoples sake, brought down and back to earth.

 

Though it be imminent that Congress & President Obama will pass this health care package, it will then be left to the voters in November and 2012 to send this Administration a clear message, "we've taken all you could shove at us, and we'll take no more." No more Mandate, no more big government, no more big brother attitude from a government that took an oath to serve the people, not compel them (us) with unconstitutional mandates. I could opine till the cows come home, for now I'll wait, pray and hope that the President will open his eyes to the realization that he was elected because he offered 'change we can believe in' and hope that we'd have a president who actually listened to the people, setting an example for Congress, that has failed to listen for some time.
